From Innovation To Diversification – A Short story
Once upon a time a couple wanted to watch their children over a Webcam, so they wrote a software application to help them doing that. Realizing the commercial potential of the idea i.e. provide IP-based video surveillance networks, they started marketing it to schools. Couple of years later, in 2002, a capital venture bought them. In 2004, when management realized that it needed to rethink how it provided its technology to clients, they decided that an integrated approach that combines software programming, installation and system maintenance was the best strategy for its brand of high-tech equipment. Since putting its new business model into practice, LenSec has seen sales shoot up to more than $10.5 million in 2007 from $3.1 million in 2005 and $7.1 million in 2006.
